End-of-life decisions can be difficult and overwhelming. At Heritage Animal Hospital, we want you to feel comfortable in the palliative/hospice care or end-of-life decision(s) you make. We are here to answer any questions or concerns you have about your pet’s diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis or quality of life. We also offer second opinions to help provide peace of mind. We use our consultation sessions to help you to understand how your pet is feeling and the likely progression of the disease process, working together to help you choose the best course of action.
If euthanasia is deemed the best option for your animal companion, we perform the process in a calm and comfortable environment. If able, you have the option of being present throughout the process. A series of two injections is administered, the first being a sedative to help your pet rest comfortably and without feeling the second shot. We offer to make an impression of your pet’s paw in clay for you to treasure as a keepsake. We also offer individualized full cremation services for your convenience.
We understand how difficult these experiences can be. Compassionate caregivers are here to help. Contact us today if you feel your pet is nearing the end of their life and would like to discuss options or if you would like more information about the euthanasia process.
