The human animal bond is a vital part of your relationship with your pet. This bond is formed from the moment you introduce a pet into your home, heart, and life. It is forged through the interactions you have with your pet. Nothing damages this bond more than behavior issues, which leaves owners feeling frustrated and angry toward their pet.
We believe that a well-adjusted pet will go a long way toward making a happy and healthy human animal bond. We recommend socialization and obedience classes for puppies and dogs, and offer classes right here in our office instructed by Julie Humiston.
We also offer behavior consultations for those problematic issues that can cause strain in a household and on the bond you share with your pet. Problem behaviors can range from inappropriate urination, separation anxiety, storm or noise phobias, or aggression in many forms (fearful, playful, territorial, etc.).
We believe in a multi-modal approach to helping problem behaviors. A multi-modal approach means that we offer environmental changes and enrichment options, behavior modification options, and medication options. Often a combination of all of these options gets the best results and we will help you in all of these areas.
We also carry a variety of products to help with training and behavior issues. For your average pet we carry training treats, puzzle toys and feeders to provide mental stimulation and Gentle Leaders®. We also carry a variety of products designed to help pets with issues including DAP® and Feliway® products, Cat Attract® litter products and enzymatic cleaners. We also offer a full pharmacy with a variety of behavioral medications when indicated.
Schedule an appointment today to discuss new puppy or kitten additions to your house, introducing new pets or new family members, or to discuss your pet’s behavior issues. We’d love to help you get the most out of your bond with your pet!
